The '10' List 8

10 Verbal Photographs

1. I had a dream that when I was hiccupping, I was slowly losing brain cells; it was a frightening experience. Every hiccup that I let loose I slowly decrease in intelligence both aesthetically and physically.
2. Imagine a world where there was no soda or cigarettes; how would the world stay alive? While I sit, bored, at work watching the tedious people move at a snails pace to a vending machine and then having a sudden burst of twenty minute energy, it is quite peculiar, yet interesting how that works.
3. Radiohead sings a song called Karma Police, which I believe is about some sort of ailment in peoples psyche. When I hear that song, I think of an actual imperative force that comes to give you what you deserve because I have noticed before, coincidentally, that people will sometimes prosper on what they do not deserve, where the “nice guys will finish last,” to be cliché.
4. I woke up with a mild stomachache one morning at 5 am. The sun was just beginning to rise and the weather was still on the chilly side. It produced a unique level of fog, where the air felt like tiny droplets hanging from thin strings formed from the clouds.
5. I saw a sign that read, “Keep off dunes,” but it was scribbled out to say, “Keep off dudes.” Although it is somewhat humorous, I wonder if these things offend homosexual people often, on an average basis?
6. They say being high on drugs is like being down a rabbit hole, metaphorically of course. I was wondering if you’re on drugs, do you feel claustrophobic because that is what I think being down a rabbit hole would entail in a feeling.
7. It’s astonishing to go to a concert and see everybody in tune with the show. Sometimes, you go to a concert and just see people there; just to be there, but to actual be in tune with the music is amazing. I imagine an array of color radiating off each persons ore, creating an influx of beautiful people.
8. I am going to dabble one more time in the feeling of love. I know I may be a hopeless romantic, but it’s a touchy subject on this side of the track for me. I find it outrageous what the feeling can do to your stomach. Imagine if there was an actual illness for heartbreak?
9. Some people need to watch what they say to certain people. I overheard, if you can even fathom this, a young man refer to an older woman as an “old lady” over an intercom at a Super K-Mart.
10. When I listen to country music in the present day I just vision a more wrangled version of the Jonas brothers. The music does not give off the delicate afterglow that I love so much.

The focus of my verbal photographs is a little more random than they usual are. I was feeling a little more sporadic this week due to a hectic schedule. What I intended to display is the notion of people and their faults. My first three quotes, Radiohead, my dream and vision, all focus on parts of the world that falter before me. Negative situations in life can lead in an increased need for Karma, if you believe in that sort of thing, which I am a firm believer. Then, the latter quotes focus on minor details that have plagued society in front of my face, such as the man using an intercom in a rude manner or the problem in which an ailment could be present through heartbreak. It really is an amazing situation to think of all the negative aspects that following individuals causing hyper extensive periods of loathing. The faults presented in my verbal photographs lead to an antidote or something to make you “feel better.” I describe the character of a person and how there actions can be positive, solving the ailments in human nature.
My treasures evolve around the same idea of leading into a new abyss, something that can make you feel better. In these treasures, what comes to mind, is that actions speak a lot louder than words, but the words can be very important in representation. These quotes again describe human action, such as Fitzgerald’s quote about action being character and to succeed an artist must possess a courageous soul. I think this can apply to any part of life. To really excel in life, on must possess a strong heart and a will to thrive on and become something wonderful. Heraclitus is a fascinating philosopher, his style really does expand from many other philosophers with his doctrine of change and valuable accordance to Logos. He talks with more reason than most philosophers, hence Logos.
